Another day in Petersburg before catching the ferry for an all night voyage to Juneau. It is heavily overcast which makes photography challenging and we are expecting a week of rain. Just in time for our first foray into camping in Alaska.

The colorful houses look perfect in this light and location.

Elections coming
We caught up with a few shops not yet explored before a very interesting hour at the museum. Petersburg was established by a Norwegian who set up a fish cannery here and bought a lot of fishing countrymen with him.

A memorial to those lost at sea, over 100

Smallest tug boat, about 3m long

Sons of Norway hall

A very early Evinrude

Lunch at Sandy Bay, which should be called Seaweed Bay. The beach road goes for about 8km with glorious views over the bay and mountains. We saw one house advertised for $1.4mil.

We are about to board so must close. Next from Juneau.
