Beach at Penguin
It was a wild and windy day, perfect for a driving day.
We left Burnie a little late after Alan has some wiring problems with his rig. We had decided to take the tourist route through Penguin and Ulverstone and, although the weather was lousy, it was a very pretty drive.

Morning tea at Penguin
Next stop was the raspberry farm with the most fantastic fresh raspberries I have ever had. Across the road is the Van Diemen Land Creamery with ice cream to die for.

I can highly recommend their whiskey cream ice cream.
Lunch at Evandale then the slow trip down the highway to Hobart to stay at the Showgrounds.
We met up with Nicky and Peter, our Alaskan travel mates as well as our daughter Bridgette and her partner, Luke. While the girls went to the show we boys had a very healthy ‘salad’ followed by a few games of pool. Great night out for all.
Tomorrow Port Arthur and convict history.
