The really big thing to do in Lagos is a boat trip to the grotto and caves, so everyone told us. While looking forward to the boat trip I wasn’t expecting a great deal from the scenery. However this was one of the most spectacular boat trips I have ever done and if you ever get to Lagos, don’t leave town without doing it. Trimming down the 300 photos down to just a few of the best was very difficult.

The grotto and cave tours along with snorkelling and diving trips are huge business here. Most of the boats in the first 3 rows will be allocated to one of the adventures.

My shot looks off kilter but is actually straight. The split bridge to the marina district which can add 15 minutes to your arrival time for your tour.

Competition for the water is enormous. There are hundreds of kayaks out there, most of them not watching what else is around. Can’t say I blame them.

There are a lot of caves that the boat can go in to, particularly at low tide.

All you can do is wait.

Obviously fish is big on the diet here. The fish market was very busy.

This is our last full day in Portugal as tomorrow we head towards Seville and Gibraltar. We have enjoyed Portugal immensely and would love to return to spend more time here. The people really make it for us. They are all so friendly and willing to help at all costs. Most speak some degree of English which helps, even in the country towns. The towns and villages are super cute, the food and wine is awesome, and there is lots to see and do. Most importantly though, everyone is very relaxed and it can’t help but rub off. The only down side is the camp grounds are on the poor side but I can’t see us coming back in a camper anyway.
