We turned the motor off just to hear the Swiss cow bells.

We headed north out of Como up the western side of the lake. Within 20 km we were surprised to find ourselves in Switzerland and we stayed with Switzerland all the way to the lake.

Another mountainous drive but so spectacular. The views just kept coming for about 3 hours before flattening out to drive beside the upper Rhine River. While we stayed on the Swiss side we had a great view of Lichtenstein over the river which looks every bit as hilly as Switzerland.

The first airshow of the day came from this glider doing acrobatics over our camp site before landing at the adjacent air field.

Finally made it to our camp site in the town of Altenrhein and Campinplatz Idyll, still in Switzerland but only just. This turned out to be the best camping site of our trip, ticking all the boxes of cost, facilities, grass, town access. Very highly recommended if you are ever in the area. We are actually thinking of using this as a base for exploring more of Switzerland, Germany and Austria in the future.

The second air show was by a flight of 3 acrobatic planes, probably from the nearby airforce base.

We had initially planned for this to be a one night stopover on the way to Munich but it was so peaceful and the lake so inviting we decided to stay and explore more tomorrow.
