Downtown Fernie
The reason we came to Fernie is for the wedding of Erin and Jon. It was a 3 pm wedding so we had some time to look around the ski resort town. It is a real town with heart and soul, unlike Banff which is a tourist town and no more.

The courthouse in Fernie.

Nicky, Linda and Collette have made a quilt for Erin’s wedding. It is a truely magnificent piece of work and Collette and Nicky spent some time this morning working out how to present it. It was worth the trouble.

Fernie is a typical ski resort town but has soul and heart during summer.

In summer there are an enormous number of mountain bike tracks to use which makes this more of an all year round town.
The wedding was held at the resort we are staying at.

It was a glorious day for a wedding, warm and sunny.

The youngest guest, resplendent in kilt as befits his Scottish heritage.

Linda, the bride’s radiant mum.
I will bring you the wedding photos tomorrow.
